PROsport Racing with extensive program in anniversary season

PROsport Racing is entering its 2024 anniversary season with an extensive racing program.

PROsport Racing and team owner Chris Esser have a special anniversary season ahead of them. While the racing team from Wiesemscheid is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, team owner Chris Esser is celebrating 50 years of motorsport! After his racing career, Esser set up his own racing team with PROsport Racing. Since then, the racing team has won national and international titles in GT3 and GT4 racing as well as in various endurance series.

Esser is also very pleased that the interest in programs with PROsport Racing is so great that not all requests can be fulfilled. For example, requests for various racing series could not be met at all, as there are too many overlaps. “We’d rather concentrate on our program and do it right than get carried away and do too much, which would ultimately harm the whole team,” says the experienced team boss. “However, the great interest makes me very proud and it is the result of years of intensive work with the corresponding results.”

This year, the team from the Eifel will continue to focus on endurance races on the Nordschleife as well as the GT4 programs in the ADAC GT4 Germany and the GT4 European Series. A program in the ADAC GT Masters is still being evaluated.

Nordschleife:

As usual, PROsport Racing will once again complete a wide-ranging program on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, in which the GT3 and GT4 cars from Aston Martin and the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup will be used. In both the GT3 and GT4 classes, one car will be manned by a top crew, which will be aiming for class victory in the Nürburgring Endurance Series and the 24-hour race. The second vehicle in the classes will be manned by ambitious gentleman drivers.

“My declared goal for 2024 is to attempt to win the most important race for me personally with the GT3 Aston Martin and a top driver line-up, even though I am aware of what that means,” says Chris Esser. “In my active time, I narrowly failed two or three times. As the saying goes, second place is the first time I’ve lost, which was in 1980. In 1987, I also retired three hours before the end of the race while leading. Even the many class victories are no consolation.”

GT4 European Series:

2024 will also see the return of PROsport Racing to the GT4 European Series Powered by RAFA Racing Club, after the team only made one guest start last year. Two Aston Martin Vantage GT4s will be on the grid. The driver pairings will be announced shortly, but will combine experienced and successful GT4 drivers with promising young talent.

ADAC GT4 Germany:

After winning two titles, PROsport Racing are planning to compete in the ADAC GT4 Germany once again. The team from Wiesemscheid has entered two Aston Martin Vantage GT4s for the 2024 season. PROsport Racing is still working on the exact team composition.

ADAC GT Masters:

After a GT3 test at the Circuit Paul Ricard, PROsport Racing also feel encouraged to think again about a program in the ADAC GT Masters, for which the team has already received many inquiries. The team will carry out another test at a later date and invite candidates before a final decision is made.
