PROsport Racing with convincing qualifying performance

PROsport Racing impressed with good speed in qualifying for the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring.

PROsport Racing is ready for the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring. The Wiesemscheid-based Aston Martin team used the extensive sessions over the two practice days to perfectly prepare for the endurance classic. Chris Esser’s racing team is entering the race from promising positions.

Nico Bastian, Marek Böckmann, and Steven Palette will be driving the Aston Martin Vantage GT3. The three drivers performed impressively in the qualifying sessions, ultimately finishing sixth in the three-part qualifying session. Only on the final lap did a competitor push the car out of the top qualifying session, in which the fastest 17 cars from the previous NLS races and qualifying battled for the best starting positions in an individual time trial. This means the Aston Martin will start the race from the midfield.

“Missing out on top qualifying on the very last lap by just 0.1 seconds was obviously a bitter blow for the entire team. However, I have to say I’m incredibly proud of the team’s performance. With our car, we only lost a tenth of a second to a factory-supported Aston Martin team with factory drivers, which gives us great confidence. It’s going to be a very tough race in these conditions, so it’s important that we do a zero-fault race in the race,” said Chris Esser.

Michel Albers, Yannik Himmels, Jörg Viebahn, and GT3-experienced Benjamin Hites will be competing in the SP10 class in the Aston Martin Vantage GT4. The quartet will start the race from third place in the GT4 class. Rounding out the PROsport Racing lineup is Guido Dumarey, Maxime Dumarey, Marcel Marchewicz, and Raphael Rennhofer, who will start from fourth place in the SP8T class.

The twice-around-the-clock race starts at 4:00 PM on Saturday. The race can be followed in full via YouTube livestream worldwide. The German free-to-air TV channel NITRO will also broadcast the entire race live, aiming for a world record for the longest TV broadcast of a live sporting event.
