Sunday’s ADAC GT4 Germany race marks the end of a chapter in PROsport Racing’s history: the team will be competing with an Aston Martin in the ADAC GT4 Germany for the last time.
The season finale of the 2025 ADAC GT4 Germany season marks the end of a chapter in PROsport Racing’s long history. The Wiesemscheid-based team will compete in the ADAC’s near-production GT series for the final time in Sunday’s race.
The PROsport racing team has been competing in the series with the British car since its debut season in 2019. At Oschersleben, Swiss driver Florian Thoma even secured pole position for the first race in the championship’s history. PROsport Racing is also the only racing team to contest at least one race in every ADAC GT4 Germany season.
The 2022 and 2023 seasons will go down in history as the most successful years. Mike David Ortmann and Hugo Sasse won the title in both years in the highly competitive series. “The two titles are clearly the highlight of our time in the ADAC GT4 Germany. We had to work hard for them against strong competition, and we are very honored to be the first team to defend the championship,” said team principal Chris Esser.
In 2023, the team also fielded an all-female car for Fabienne Wohlwend and Célia Martin. The two fast ladies also impressed with their strong performances. Through PROsport Racing, Célia Martin made the jump to the IronDames squad, meaning she will be competing in the FIA WEC, the World Endurance Championship, for the first time this year. PROsport Racing also gave talented sim racing drivers the opportunity to take their first steps in real motorsport, including Raphael Rennhofer, who demonstrated his talent with his second victory in the series on Saturday at Hockenheim.
In total, PROsport Racing has secured 15 pole positions with the Aston Martin Vantage GT4, more than any other team in the ADAC GT4 Germany. The team also won eleven races, placing second in the all-time standings.
“A true era will be coming to an end for us – today marks the last time we compete with Aston Martin in the ADAC GT4 Germany,” explains team owner Chris Esser. “Over the past six years, we have achieved some of our greatest successes with Aston Martin. Nevertheless, working with the brand hasn’t always been the easiest, which has made life quite difficult for us at times. We are currently talking to several manufacturers because we want to continue our involvement in the racing series, as the ADAC GT4 Germany fits perfectly into our concept.”
