PROsport Racing starts NLS season with four cars

PROsport Racing will start the season opener of the Nürburgring Endurance Series with four cars. In addition to two Aston Martin Vantage GT3s, the team from Wiesemscheid is fielding one Aston Martin Vantage GT4 and one Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.

The 68th ADAC Westfalenfahrt will kick off the 2023 season of the Nürburgring Endurance Series on 18 March, with PROsport Racing fielding four cars in the four-hour race. With the traditional season opener, the racing series starts the new racing year, which is much anticipated due to personnel changes in the organisation and rule changes.

The team from Wiesemscheid is fielding two Aston Martin Vantage GT3s in the SP9 class. As Jean Glorieux cannot compete for family reasons, Nordschleife expert Christoph Breuer will share the car with start number #17 – which will start in the Am sub-classification – with Maxime Dumarey from Belgium. Veteran Nico Verdonck, who has been associated with PROsport Racing for many years, replaces Breuer in the sister car with start number #37 and will start together with Mike David Ortmann. The driver duo’s car will start in the Pro classification.

The team will enter another Aston Martin in the SP10 class, which has a strong field of nine GT4 cars. In addition to Guido Dumarey and Yevgen Sokolovskiy, the fast Czech Gabriela Jilkova, who has already impressed in her races in the GT Winter Series and will compete for PROsport Racing in the ADAC GT4 Germany, will pilot the car with the starting number #176.

PROsport Racing will also celebrate a premiere: for the first time, the team will field a new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup in the Cup 2 class of the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring. Alongside Simon Balcaen, veteran Jörg Viebahn will field the popular one-make cup racer.

“We are looking forward to the season opener of the Nürburgring Endurance Series,” says team boss Chris Esser. “I think the race series has developed in a good direction over the winter and I’m excited to see how the changes to the event will affect us. This will be the first time we will be fielding two GT3 cars in a race at the Nordschleife, this will be a challenge for us but I’m sure my team will rise to the challenge!”

Tickets for the opening race of the Nürburgring Endurance Series are available for €20 (children 14 and under free). This will get you into the open grandstands at the Grand Prix circuit, into the exclusive spectator areas Brünnchen and Pflanzgarten as well as into the paddock, the pit lane, the starting grid and the motorsport experience museum ring°werk. The race will start as usual at 12:00, preceded by qualifying at 08:30. The entire race day can be followed in the official livestream.
