PROsport Racing continues title fight at Hockenheim

For PROsport Racing, the GT4 European Series title fight enters the hot phase at Hockenheim.

The penultimate race weekend in the 2022 GT4 European Series season will take place at the Hockenheimring. At the SRO Championship’s German round, PROsport Racing will once again field two Aston Martin Vantage GT4s. Mike David Ortmann and Hugo Sasse will steer the #24 car, while Belgians Nico Verdonck and Rodrigue Gillion will take turns at the wheel of the #25.

Ahead of the race weekend at the circuit near Mannheim, Ortmann and Sasse are in fourth place in the Silver Cup. They are 32 points behind championship leaders Enzo Joulie and Lluc Ibanez. The objective of the double winners from the race weekend at the Circuit Paul Ricard is therefore clear: to finish ahead of the NM Racing Team Mercedes-AMG GT4 in both races and thus reduce the gap as much as possible before the finale in Barcelona. Nico Verdonck and Rodrigue Gillion are eleventh in the Pro-Am standings.

“If we still want to have a say in the championship with Mike David Ortmann and Hugo Sasse, we have to finish twice ahead of the AMG GT4 of Joulie and Ibanez. We are currently in fourth position, just four points behind second place but 32 points behind the Mercedes,” says team boss Christoph Esser. “With four races still to go, this is a thoroughly solvable task, but we mustn’t make any mistakes. The BoP is definitely not bad for Hockenheim, so, as I said – full attack!”

The two one-hour races at Hockenheim will take place on Saturday at 16:55 and on Sunday at 12:10. Interested fans can watch the heats on SRO’s YouTube channel. In addition, you can be live at the race track from €10.
