PROsport Racing will be attacking the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring with four Aston Martin cars and a strong driver line-up.
The ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring will once again be PROsport Racing’s highlight of the season this year. The racing team from Wiesemscheid will enter four Aston Martin cars in the race twice around the clock, which is part of the Intercontinental GT Challenge for the first time this year. In addition to a GT3 Vantage, Chris Esser’s team will be fielding three GT4 cars.
PROsport Racing is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, while team owner Chris Esser is even celebrating his 50th anniversary this year. For this reason, the team wants to fight for a top result in the overall standings this year. Marek Böckmann, Nico Bastian and two-time ADAC GT4 Germany title winner Hugo Sasse will be behind the wheel of the Aston Martin Vantage GT3. It is not yet clear whether a fourth driver will join them.
In the GT4 SP10 class, PROsport Racing will also field a strong Aston Martin Vantage GT4 with the clear aim of winning the class. Last year’s champion in the Silver Cup of the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup, 24h Spa class winner and ADAC GT Masters race winner Benjamin Hites will compete together with Christoph Breuer, Jasmin Preisig from Switzerland and Reinhold Renger. Preisig put in a strong performance at the ADAC 24h Qualifiers together with Renger and Jörg Viebahn and celebrated a class win.
The GT4 line-up of the team from Wiesemscheid is rounded off by two cars driven by ambitious gentleman drivers. Nordschleife veteran Rudi Adams will share the SP10 car with the two Swedes Patrik Skoog and Gustav Bard as well as Alexander Hommerson from Belgium. Long-time PROsport Racing driver Jörg Viebahn will line up in the SP8T together with Arno Klasen, Eric Ullström and GT3-experienced Lorenzo Rocco di Torrepadula.
“The 24-hour race at the Nürburgring is our absolute highlight of the season again this year,” says Chris Esser. “To celebrate our anniversary, we have set ourselves ambitious goals. With our GT3, we want to have a say in the battle for the top results. Our goal in the GT4 class is also very clear: class victory! We have also been able to line up two more GT4 cars with experienced gentleman drivers who will also be a force to be reckoned with over the race distance!”
This year’s edition of the 24h Nürburgring will take place from May 30 to June 2. More than 200,000 spectators are once again expected at the traditional circuit in the Eifel! In addition, the entire race will be broadcast in full length on NITRO free-to-air TV – a live stream on YouTube will also be available again for interested fans worldwide.
