After the successful weekend at the home game at the Nürburgring with two second places in the qualifying sessions and two second places in the races, Peter Terting and PROsport Racing had expected a lot for the penultimate race of the DTM Trophy season. The 4.011 km long circuit in Belgium should suit the Porsche Cayman PRO4 well.
But it turned out differently, although after finishing second and fourth in the two training sessions on Friday it still looked good. But in the first qualifying, the former DTM driver couldn’t get past tenth place, and the first race ended after seven laps after damage to the front of the Porsche. Because the native of Kemptner also received two warnings, he had to start the second race from last place on the grid. His race to catch up ended in ninth position, which meant two poor points. In the point table, Terting slipped to fifth place with 72 points.
Team Principal Christoph Esser
“To be honest, Zolder was a huge disappointment for us. Actually, after two second places, we wanted to be at the top of the podium, which seemed quite achievable on this course. Very unfortunate and annoying. All the greater is our motivation for the finale in Hockenheim.”
