14 hours of racing with six Aston Martin in two race series – PROsport Racing will compete this weekend in both the 12h Nürburgring and the ADAC GT4 Germany.
14 hours of racing, 14 drivers, six Aston Martin race cars, two racing series, two race tracks, one team – PROsport Racing has a challenging race weekend ahead of it on the Nürburgring Nordschleife and at the Sachsenring. The racing team from Wiesemscheid will take part in the 12h Nürburgring of the Nürburgring Endurance Series and the penultimate round of the ADAC GT4 Germany season.
The Nürburgring Endurance Series returns from a two-month summer break at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. The 12h Nürburgring will feature a six-hour race each on Saturday and Sunday. The event, which will also see four-time Formula 1 world champion Sebastian Vettel drive a Formula 1 car around the Nordschleife through the Red Bull Formula Nürburgring, is considered the season highlight of the tradition-steeped endurance series in the Eifel region.
PROsport Racing will bring one GT3 and one GT4 Aston Martin to the start. Marek Böckmann will be at the wheel of the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 for the first time. Böckmann was able to gain a lot of experience with GT3 cars on the Nordschleife in recent years and is considered a great talent in Nordschleife circles. He shares the car with the two regular drivers Maxime Dumarey and Christoph Breuer.
The Aston Martin Vantage GT4 will be driven by Guido Dumarey, Michael Hess and Rudi Adams, who will be making his second appearance in the production-based British GT racer after the 24-hour race.
Team owner Christoph Esser: “On the Nordschleife, we have made enormous progress with our GT3 Aston Martin in recent races and were able to fight for podium positions in both races after the 24-hour race. This is exactly where we want to continue this weekend. With Marek Böckmann we have a fast newcomer on the car, about whom I don’t have to say much. His performance is known to everyone around the Nordschleife.”
The two races start at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday and 12:00 p.m. on Sunday and can be followed in the official livestream of the race series.
At the same time, PROsport Racing will also be racing at the legendary Sachsenring, which enjoys cult status thanks to its annual MotoGP guest appearances. In the ADAC GT4 Germany, the team from the Eifel region will be fielding four Aston Martin Vantage GT4 cars.
Reigning champions Hugo Sasse and Mike David Ortmann travel to the Berg-und-Talbahn near Chemnitz as championship leaders. Of the last four ADAC GT4 Germany races at the track, they have won three in a PROsport Racing Aston Martin.
The team’s other cars will be driven by Celiá Martin and Fabienne Wohlwend, Leon Erger and Raphael Rennhofer, and the gentleman duo of Damon Surzyshyn and Yevgen Sokolovskiy.
“The race weekend at the Lausitzring was difficult for us due to the BoP, but Hugo and Mike still managed to sensationally defend their lead in the standings. But that is now behind us. We’re now looking ahead to the Sachsenring and know that it will be another difficult task for us. But we will again do our best to defend our lead in the standings and put ourselves in a good championship position ahead of the finale!” concluded Esser.
The two races will be recorded on Saturday and Sunday at 4:40 p.m. each. Sport1 will broadcast both races live on FreeTV.
