PROsport Racing with strong results in Oschersleben and at NLS2

PROsport Racing achieved strong results last weekend at the ADAC GT4 Germany in Oschersleben and at the second round of the ADAC Nürburgring Endurance Series.

The ADAC GT4 Germany began its 2025 season in Oschersleben. PROsport Racing fielded two Aston Martin Vantage GT4s. Hugo Sasse and Roman Fellner-Feldegg, as well as Anton Abée and Marek Böckmann, drove the two British sports cars.

In qualifying for the first race, local hero Hugo Sasse took pole position. This was the driver from Aschersleben’s first pole position at the track. He defended his lead in the race. Halfway through the race, his co-driver Roman Fellner-Feldegg took over and finished the race in third place. The driver, who had been promoted from the DMV BMW 318ti Cup, also won the rookie classification.

The second car was unable to contest the first race. Due to food poisoning, Anton Abée was unable to drive the race, and PROsport Racing withdrew the car on Saturday.

On Sunday, the Wiesemscheid-based team’s two Aston Martins were back in action. After a penalty was imposed on a competitor, the cars even occupied the entire front row. Marek Böckmann started the race ahead of Roman Fellner-Feldegg. The young Bavarian was able to take the lead at the start and defend it for a long time before the eventual winner was able to slip through. After an hour of racing, Hugo Sasse was flagged off in second place in that car. Roman Fellner-Feldegg once again won the rookie classification.

Anton Abée, who was still suffering from a bad injury, put in an excellent, combative performance in the second car. The Hamburg native was able to defend sixth place against several other cars and thus score valuable points.

“Hats off to Anton for his performance in the second race. He wasn’t feeling well, but he still defended like an experienced driver! If there were a Driver of the Race award, he would deserve it!” said team owner Chris Esser. “Hugo and Roman also put in a strong performance, especially Roman in his debut in the racing series. We can build on that.”

After the first race weekend, Sasse and Fellner-Feldegg are in second place in the championship. The Bavarian also secured second place in the Junior classification. The newcomer from the DMV BMW 318ti Cup leads the Rookie classification after the first two races. PROsport Racing is also currently in second place in the Team Championship. The ADAC GT4 Germany will continue at the Norisring on the first weekend of July.

At the same time, PROsport Racing also competed in the ADAC Nürburgring Endurance Series. The team fielded one Aston Martin Vantage GT4 and one Vantage GT8R in the SP8T class. The GT4 car was originally scheduled to compete in the SP10 class, but due to the low number of participants and the express request of the drivers, the team decided to switch classes.

“I think the NLS should do something to counteract the interplay between classes,” emphasizes Chris Esser. “It’s not the purpose of a racing series to decide which class to compete in the next day after looking at the entry list on Friday evening. I was also against changing our team, but the drivers overruled me. In my opinion, current GT4 cars should compete in the SP10 class, similar to the TCR class. I think it would be fine for older cars to compete in a different class. That way, we would have a well-filled SP10 class with around 15 cars, ensuring exciting motorsport, which would also be great for the fans!”

After two spins, Jörg Viebahn, Michel Albers, and Yannick Himmels finished the race in third place in the Vantage GT4, having started the race from pole position. The team is confident that the car could keep up with the pace of the top cars in the class. The father-and-son team of Guido and Maxime Dumarey finished the four-hour race in eighth place in the Vantage GT8R. The ADAC Nürburgring Endurance Series will continue in two weeks with the third race of the season.
