PROsport Racing with strong performance in the shortened 6-hour race

PROsport Racing achieved a second place and a pole position in the shortened 6-hour race of the ADAC Nürburgring Endurance Series.

The KW ADAC Ruhr Cup race is normally the season highlight of the ADAC Nürburgring Endurance Series and covers a distance of six hours. But the teams and spectators couldn’t believe their eyes when they arrived at the racetrack on Saturday morning: Thick fog lay over the Nürburgring, preventing the race from running as planned. “After the bright sunshine and temperatures around 30°C on Friday, the fog the following day was naturally a big surprise. But it showed once again that you have to expect anything in the Eifel region,” said Chris Esser.

The shortened 40-minute qualifying session began at 12:00 p.m. Marek Böckmann drove the Aston Martin GT8R to pole position in the SP8T class. In the car he shared with the father-and-son team of Guido and Maxime Dumarey, Böckmann left several nominally much faster cars behind. The trio also posted fast lap times in the race before retiring about half an hour before the end of the race.

The race was shortened to four and a half hours and resumed at 2:00 p.m. The performance of Michel Albers, Benjamin Hites, and Jörg Viebahn in the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 was particularly impressive at PROsport Racing. After a difficult qualifying session, the trio fought their way up to the SP10 class with a strong performance. Driving the blue Aston Martin, the three drivers finished second in their class, beaten only by a car with a nominally stronger “Pro” classification.

“We are very pleased with the speed of our cars! Our GT4 showed a great performance in the race and achieved another strong result. Benjamin Hites, just as he did in the 24-hour race, integrated well into the team. Marek Böckmann’s performance in the GT8R in qualifying was fantastic, and the trio also showed fast lap times in the race until the bitter retirement, which gives us confidence,” concludes team principal Esser.

The ADAC Nürburgring Endurance Series continues in four weeks. On September 13 and 14, 2025, the NLS will host a double-header for the first time this season. A four-hour race will be held on each day, marking races seven and eight of the season.
