PROsport Racing enjoyed a promising season opener in the Nürburgring Endurance Series, with the team’s two Aston Martins achieving strong results.
The 70th ADAC Westfalenfahrt (Westphalia Rally) marked the start of the 2025 ADAC Nürburgring Endurance Series season last weekend. PROsport Racing fielded two Aston Martins. Guido and Maxime Dumarey drove an Aston Martin Vantage GT8R in the SP8T class. Jörg Viebahn, Michel Albers, and Yannik Himmels drove a Vantage GT4 in the SP10 Am class.
The GT4 trio delivered a promising performance in the four-hour race. Albers and Himmels, who moved up from the smaller classes to the GT4 at the season opener, delivered a solid debut and were able to learn a lot from veteran Jörg Viebahn. With a lap time of 8:39.804, the drivers set the fastest GT4 lap time of the race. After four hours of racing, the car was classified second in the SP10 Am class.
“I’m very pleased with our trio’s race! They were able to set fast lap times and performed strongly. This gives us confidence for the upcoming races,” said team owner Chris Esser. “However, I don’t understand the division of the SP10 class. Only six SP10 cars started the race, and splitting them into two classes is, in my opinion, rather pointless, especially since the driver differences between the classes are minimal.”
The father-and-son duo of Guido and Maxime Dumarey also delivered a promising performance in the Vantage GT8R. The two Belgians finished third in the SP8T class after a strong race. The two drivers only narrowly missed second place.
The Nürburgring Endurance Series continues in five weeks – PROsport Racing will once again field several Aston Martins.
