PROsport Racing returns to the ADAC GT Masters

PROsport Racing celebrates its return to the ADAC GT Masters at Spa-Francorchamps – the racing team will field two Aston Martin Vantage GT3s. Debut in GT World Challenge Europe planned.

PROsport Racing is returning to the ADAC GT Masters. The racing team will be represented with two Aston Martin Vantage GT3s at Spa-Francorchamps and will also compete in the upcoming events at the Red Bull Ring and Hockenheim.

“Many thanks to the ADAC, who have made every effort to ensure our return to the racing series,” said team owner Chris Esser. “We still have a score to settle with the ADAC GT Masters! I am sure that with our driver line-up – which combines young talent and experience – we can now prove our abilities!”

Hugo Sasse, who won the ADAC GT4 Germany title with PROsport Racing in 2022 and 2023 and will return to the ADAC GT Masters, will compete in a Vantage GT3. As in the GT4 European Series, he will share the car with young Austrian Raphael Rennhofer, who will be making his racing debut in a GT3 car.

“I’m looking forward to my return to the ADAC GT Masters. I’ve developed a lot since my last start there. I expect to fight for good results together with Raphael and am very motivated going into the races,” said Sasse, who last competed in the series in 2021. His Austrian partner adds: “The ADAC GT Masters has always been a dream of mine and now to make the step up together with PROsport Racing makes me particularly proud! I’ve already been able to test the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 and learned a lot in the process. I am sure that I can also learn a lot in the remaining races and I am looking forward to the challenge.”

GT rookie Hendrik Still will start in the sister car together with Jamie Day, a young Briton who is racing under license from the United Arab Emirates. Jamie Day became champion in the GT4 Winter Series this winter and is the youngest race winner in the GT4 class of British GT. Now Day is celebrating his racing debut in the GT3 class with PROsport Racing. “It’s an honor for me to enter the world of GT3 racing with PROsport Racing in the ADAC GT Masters,” said the 18-year-old Briton, who lives in Dubai. “My aim is to keep improving and make the most of it every time I get in the car. I’m looking forward to the start of the event at Spa.”

It will be a return to the ADAC GT Masters for Still, as he already raced in the series in 2021. So far this year, he has competed in the GT4 European Series for PROsport Racing. “I have known Chris and his team for many years and have been able to be part of the team sporadically for various races. My thanks go to Chris for this opportunity and the trust he has placed in my work on and off the track.”

At Spa-Francorchamps, the racing series will complete a race weekend with the endurance and sprint race format for the second time. Saturday’s race lasts 80 minutes and two pit stops are mandatory, during which refueling and tire changes are also required. A 40-minute sprint follows on Sunday with one driver change. At the Red Bull Ring and in Hockenheim, the usual format with two one-hour races will be used. All ADAC GT Masters races can be watched live on Sport1 free-to-air TV and on the official YouTube stream.

But that’s not all, PROsport Racing is still keeping an eye on the GT4 European Series and is also working on its debut in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup! “Of course, we are keeping the GT4 European Series option open, as both cars are registered for the entire season. We now have to line up the cars again and are eagerly awaiting the car classification for Monza. Jeddah will also remain on our calendar and we will try our entry into the GT World Challenge Europe there! It’s a good opportunity to end the season with a very spectacular event!”
