PROsport Racing drives to another class win

PROsport Racing also drives to class victory in the SP9 Pro-Am category at the 6h race of the Nürburgring Endurance Series.

The ROWE 6 Hours ADAC Ruhr Cup Race marked the end of the Nürburgring Endurance Series’ two-month summer break. The six-hour race is one of the season highlights of the endurance series every season. PROsport Racing brought three cars to the start in warm temperatures.

The Aston Martin Vantage GT3 continued its winning streak in the racing series. In the SP9 Pro-Am class, Maxime Dumarey and Mike David Ortmann drove to their second class win in a row. Due to the disqualification of a competitor, the car was classified in fourth position overall and narrowly missed out on a top 3 result in the overall standings.

In qualifying, Ortmann, the 2022 ADAC GT4 Germany champion, again broke the 8:00-minute barrier with the British GT3 racer, once again impressively demonstrating the progress the team from Wiesemscheid has made with the car.

“I am very pleased that we were able to take our second class win in a row in the SP9 Pro-Am,” said team owner Chris Esser. “The drivers, team and car did a flawless job, which was no easy task given the hot conditions and longer race distance. We hope to continue like this after the summer break.”

At the wheel of the Aston Martin Vantage GT4, the two gentleman drivers Guido Dumarey and Yevgen Sokolovskiy took to the grid. The two drivers put in a flawless and consistent performance in the hot conditions and finished the race in fourth place in the GT4 class.

Jörg Viebahn and Simon Balcaen piloted the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, which was fighting for a top 10 result in the Cup 2 class until a few minutes before the end of the race, but ultimately the car failed to reach the finish line due to an electronic problem.

“I am very disappointed with the 992-generation Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. The car is apparently not up to the standard of its predecessors in terms of reliability,” Esser said. “We constantly have some kind of technical problem, which for me strongly suggests a lack of maturity. I’m used to something different from Porsche in that respect.”
