At the ADAC GT4 Germany on the Hockenheimring, PROsport Racing celebrated a victorious comeback in the racing series.
At the end of this year’s GT4 season, PROsport Racing made a guest start in the ADAC GT4 Germany. Two-time champion Hugo Sasse and Raphael Rennhofer started in an Aston Martin Vantage GT4. For the team from Wiesemscheid, it was the first start of this year’s season, which means they have kept their quota high and have competed in at least one race weekend in every ADAC GT4 Germany racing year to date.
Sasse started the first race from second place. However, after a defect in the starting lights and several collisions in the rear field, the race had to be interrupted. After that, an exciting battle for the lead developed, in which the Aston Martin prevailed. Raphael Rennhofer was the first to take the checkered flag at the end of the race.
For the second race, Raphael Rennhofer was able to secure his first pole position in GT4 racing. The Austrian was initially able to lead the race, but after a tough fight he had to let the Porsche, who later won, pass. Ultimately, Hugo Sasse finished the race in second place in the Aston Martin.
“For us, this was a great end to a difficult GT4 season,” said team owner Chris Esser happily. “Our GT4 racing year started strongly in Le Castellet before things got difficult in the summer. But we were able to impressively demonstrate what we can really do in Hockenheim, and this makes us optimistic about the winter. We have come up with a few interesting ideas in the GT4 area and want to test them in the GT Winter Series.”
At the same time, PROsport Racing started at NLS5 on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Guido Dumarey and Harry Rice drove an Aston Martin Vantage GT4 to second place in the SP8T class. In the SP10 class, the team entered a reduced-power Vantage GT4 for permit drivers Niek and Marnix Hommerson – the father-and-son duo finished fifth in the class, which is a strong result for a permit vehicle. The Aston Martin Vantage GT3 of Maxime Dumarey and Marek Böckmann retired after a technical defect.
