PROsport Racing attacks at the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring

With a strong driver line-up, PROsport Racing will start with three Aston Martins at the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring.

The ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring is the absolute highlight of the season for PROsport Racing. The Wiesemscheid-based racing team will field an Aston Martin Vantage GT3, GT4, and the exotic GT8R. PROsport’s Classic division will also participate in the historic 24h Classic race as part of the supporting program.

The team’s Aston Martin Vantage GT3 will be driven by experienced and fast drivers. Nico Bastian, Marek Böckmann, and Steven Palette, who won the Silver Cup of the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup in 2020, will take the wheel of the British GT3 car. The driver trio will compete in the SP9 Pro-Am class.

“We know what our car is capable of, which we have demonstrated with several podium finishes in the Nürburgring Endurance Series,” says team principal Chris Esser. “Our goal is to finish the race in the best possible way. My hope is to upset the factory-supported cars and thus have a say in the overall top 10.”

The team’s Aston Martin Vantage GT4 will compete in the SP10 class. Regular drivers Michel Albers, Yannik Himmels, and Jörg Viebahn will be joined by Benjamin Hites. The Chilean, who has already achieved success in the ADAC GT Masters and the GT World Challenge Europe, drove for the Wiesemscheid-based racing team last year. Following two class wins at the ADAC 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers and strong performances in the NLS, the car should play a significant role in the battle for the class victory.

PROsport Racing’s entry will be rounded out by the Aston Martin Vantage GT8R in the SP8T class. In addition to the father-and-son team of Guido and Maxime Dumarey, two fast drivers will compete. Austrian Raphael Rennhofer made his entry into GT racing with PROsport Racing and also competed with the team in the ADAC GT Masters – now he’s making his first race appearance on the Nordschleife with the team. Debutant Marcel Marchewicz, who has already demonstrated his speed with other teams, completes the driver lineup.

The ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring will take place from June 19th to 22nd. It is expected that well over 200,000 spectators will once again flock to the Eifel region for the race. The race can also be followed worldwide via YouTube livestream. The German free-to-air broadcaster NITRO will also broadcast the entire race live and is aiming for a world record for the longest TV broadcast of a live sporting event.

The race, which will be held twice a day, will start at 4:00 p.m. on June 21st. In the days leading up to the race, participants have several hours of practice time to familiarize themselves with the legendary race track and secure the best possible starting position.

PROsport Racing will also participate in the historic 24h Classic race, in which more than 200 historic racing cars will compete! The 160-minute race will take place at 8:50 a.m. on the Saturday before the endurance classic. Currently, an Opel Kadett C Coupé and a BMW 635 CSI are planned for entry. In addition to former DTM champion Kurt Thiim and former Truck European Championship title holder Markus Oestreich, other well-known and fast racing drivers are expected to compete.
