PROsport Racing has named the first drivers for this year’s season in the Nürburgring Endurance Series.
Preparations for this year’s season in the Nürburgring Endurance Series are in full swing at PROsport Racing. The use of an Aston Martin Vantage GT4 and the Aston Martin Vantage GT8R for the entire Nürburgring Endurance Series season and the 24-hour race is currently fixed. The Aston Martin Vantage GT3 is being worked on for the Pro-Am class of the SP9. “We are currently talking to several drivers who are interested in competing in our Vantage GT3 and are putting together the best possible driver line-up,” explains team boss Chris Esser.
As in the previous year, the Aston Martin Vantage GT8R will compete in the SP8T class. The car is a customer sports model from the British brand, which made its debut in 2020 and is intended to close the gap between the GT3 and GT4 cars. The biggest changes to the Vantage GT4 are the increased engine power and the fact that the car develops more downforce. The two Belgians Guido Dumarey and Alexander Hommerson will contest the entire season with the car.
Nordschleife veteran Jörg Viebahn will be at the wheel of the GT4 Vantage. The 60-year-old from Gummersbach has already achieved many successes on the Nordschleife and in European GT4 racing with PROsport Racing. He will be joined by Yannik Himmels, who is stepping up to GT4 from a less powerful car. Michel Albers, who has already gained GT3 experience, completes the driver trio.
