PROsport Racing has confirmed its line-up for the 2023 ADAC GT4 Germany season. Last year’s champion team will field four Aston Martin Vantage GT4s.
After winning the title in 2022, PROsport Racing will also be contesting the ADAC GT4 Germany in 2023. The racing team from Wiesemscheid will be fielding four Aston Martin Vantage GT4s in the ADAC’s highly competitive GT4 championship. The goal is clear: title defense!
In the car with the starting number #1, which goes by the nickname “Ashton Maja”, the reigning champions Mike David Ortmann and Hugo Sasse will once again be on the grid. After winning the title last year, the two drivers were named official “Aston Martin Racing Driver Academy” drivers for the 2023 season and are thus junior drivers for the British brand.
Two talented female drivers will be competing in car number #13. Frenchwoman Célia Martin, who lives in Adenau, shares the Vantage GT4 with Fabienne Wohlwend from Liechtenstein. The 25-year-old Wohlwend has already gained experience on the Nürburgring Nordschleife and in the W Series during her career. She also won the 2018 Ferrari Challenge World Final in the Trofeo Pirelli classification.
A pair of siblings will pilot the #19 Vantage. Swedes Jessica and Andreas Bäckman are moving up from TCR racing to ADAC GT4 Germany to pilot the car. Jessica was runner-up in the ADAC TCR Germany in 2022, winning four rounds in the process.
As in the previous year, the fourth car will be driven by Yevgen Sokolovskiy, a Ukrainian who lives in Düsseldorf, in the ADAC GT4 Germany. Sokolovskiy will share the car with Canadian Damon Surzyshyn. Surzyshyn has competed in the strongly contested GT4 America in recent years. He is also a producer and performer in the documentary series “Going Pro SRO America.”
“Eight drivers, including three female pilots, from six nations in four cars: we are starting with a promising driver line-up. As the reigning champions, our objective is clear, we want to defend our title win! I’m going into the 2023 ADAC GT4 Germany with a positive feeling!” says team boss Chris Esser. “In addition, we will attack the title win in the Trophy classification with Yevgen and Damon.”
The 2023 season in the ADAC GT4 Germany will kick off on the Whitsun weekend in Oschersleben. All six stops will take place as part of the supporting program of the DTM, which will be held under the auspices of the ADAC for the first time this year.
