PROsport Racing narrowly missed the class win at NLS9 after a strong performance.
PROsport Racing fielded three Aston Martins in the ninth round of the ADAC Nürburgring Endurance Series. The team from Wiesemscheid impressed with a strong performance at the 57th ADAC Barbarossapreis.
Marek Böckmann and Raphael Rennhofer competed in the SP8T class with an Aston Martin Vantage GT4. The two drivers delivered a strong and flawless performance over the entire race distance and led the race for a long time. However, unlucky with two Code 60 episodes cost them the class lead. After four hours of racing, they finished the race in second place, missing the class win by just around ten seconds. After securing pole position in the morning, Marek Böckmann also set the fastest lap in the class.
The father-and-son team of Guido and Maxime Dumarey competed as usual in the SP8T class with an Aston Martin Vantage GT8R. The two Belgians finished the race in sixth place.
Jörg Viebahn, Benjamin Hites, and Raphael Rennhofer also had a chance of winning the SP10 class with their Vantage GT4, but a tire puncture caused an early retirement.
“Kudos to Marek and Raphael for their good performance in NLS9, which deserved a class win,” explained team principal Chris Esser. “Unfortunately, we lost about a minute to our opponents on laps 21 and 23 due to two Code 60 phases, which dropped them back to second place. Unfortunately, another puncture on our SP10 car destroyed any chance of fighting for the win there, which we now have to analyze.”
This year’s season finale of the ADAC Nürburgring Endurance Series will take place on October 11th with the 1st NLS Sportwarte Trophy.
