Pole position, leading and then after five hours a brocken drift shaft resulted in a sudden end

At the season highlight of the Nürburgring Endurance Series, NLS for short and formerly VLN, PROsport Racing fielded two Aston Martin Vantage GT4s for the only six-hour race. GT ace Nico Verdonck started an attack on victory in the SP10 class together with his Belgian compatriots Maxime Dumarey and Jean Glorieux. Verdonck managed the first big surprise in qualifying when he positioned the orange and white Vantage on the drying track in 20th place in the overall classification among around 140 teams. In the race, the PROsport trio retained the lead in the duel against the Mercedes-AMG GT4 for a long time or was within striking distance. The class victory was within reach, especially since the Mercedes team received a penalty when the Vantage rolled down the long straight of Döttinger Höhe with a broken drive shaft almost exactly one hour before the end of the race, to the horror of Chris Esser’s team.

The second PROsport Vantage with the regular line-up Guido Dumarey and Alexander Walker as well as Michael Hess turned its laps reliably and quickly and narrowly missed a podium finish with fourth place.
