PROsport Racing pushes young talent: Erger and Rennhofer in ADAC GT4 Germany

For many years, PROsport Racing has been focusing on young talent. With Leon Erger and Raphael Rennhofer, the team will bring two more talented drivers to the starting line in the ADAC GT4 Germany.

PROsport Racing has been committed to promoting young talent for many years. For example, reigning DTM champion Sheldon van der Linde and BMW works driver Max Hesse went through the school of the racing team from Wiesemscheid. With Leon Erger and Raphael Rennhofer, two new talented young drivers will now start for Christoph Esser’s team. Erger and Rennhofer will contest the remaining four race weekends of the ADAC GT4 Germany with an Aston Martin Vantage GT4 from PROsport Racing.

The race weekend at the Nürburgring will be Leon Erger’s debut in real motorsport. So far, he has only taken part in simracing competitions. Erger has so far been able to gain experience in the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 during several test drives. He was coached by Mike David Ortmann, who became champion in the ADAC GT4 Germany in 2022 in the PROsport Racing car. The 22-year-old Erger also competes in PROsport Racing’s newly founded SimRacing team.

16-year-old Raphael Rennhofer has also already gained test experience in the Vantage GT4 and also impressed. Rennhofer is also active in karting, where he has already won championship titles in Germany and Austria. He made his debut in motor racing this year in the Pfister Racing Touring Car Challenge, where he won both races in the Chevrolet Cruze at Zolder.

Team boss Christoph Esser: “Leon and Raphael left a lasting impression on me during their test drives in the Aston Martin and I’m looking forward to seeing how they perform in the competitive starting field of the ADAC GT4 Germany.”

The ADAC GT4 Germany season continues on the first weekend of August at the Nürburgring. This will be followed by race weekends at the Lausitzring and Sachsenring before the season concludes at Hockenheim at the end of October.
